Sharim Afnan coaches high-potential executives and teams in all industries.

 

She combines her practical, goal-oriented approach to problem-solving with an intuitive ability to connect with others.  She is passionate about helping people unlock their potential.  She does this by assisting her clients to identify, refine and deepen their own key leadership skills, and to work through patterns and impediments to growth, so that they can flourish in their careers. 

 

Her coaching expertise covers one-on-one sessions, management training, public speaking, and group facilitation.

 

Sharim draws on her background as a corporate and private equity attorney in the London and Boston offices of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP—one of the top 10 law firms in the US.  At Weil Gotshal, she handled major international business transactions, including large-scale corporate mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.  An important learning during her time as an attorney was that focusing on team-building and mentoring is critical, particularly during complex deals.  As a coach, she continues to prioritize these ways of working together in order to improve team efficiency and assure high-quality outcomes for her clients. 

 

Sharim also has hands-on business experience as an entrepreneur, founding and running two start-up companies before embarking on her coaching career. 

 

Her own multicultural, multilingual background helps Sharim relate naturally with her clients and understand different perspectives and approaches to problem-solving.  Building rapport with people from diverse cultures has been instrumental to her success and helps her to drive meaningful engagement.

 

Education and Certifications

 

Sharim has earned a Law Degree from Queen Mary University of London, and a Master of Law from University College London.  She is qualified as a United Kingdom Solicitor and is admitted to the New York Bar. 

 

She completed her certification as an Executive Coach & Career Coach from the Center for Executive Coaching and is certified to administer and interpret the D.I.S.C. Assessment.
